C.C.D. PROGRAM GUIDELINES
Students are to attend all classes and are to report to the classroom
on time. If an absence is unavoidable, please call the C.C.D. Office to report the absence.
● If your child is absent, parents
are to consult the class syllabus provided to
each student and complete the
assigned chapter (or chapters) at home. The
chapter review test at the end of
each chapter must be completed and
submitted to the catechist when your
child returns to class.
● Children who miss more than three
classes during the year must attend the
year-end make-up class scheduled in
April or repeat the entire year.
● There is a $15.00 charge to replace lost textbooks.
Parents are not to take children from class before dismissal time.
Requests for early dismissal must be made through the program manager.
Parents are asked to wait for their children in the Church Hall Lobby until the
dismissal bell rings. Elementary students (grades K-5) will only
be released to parents or guardians.
Disruptive behavior will not be tolerated. Any student sent to the
office because of poor behavior will be asked to call his/her parents to
come and pick him/her up. Parents will then need to arrange a meeting
with the teacher, program manager, and the student before the student
will be admitted back into the classroom.
● Cell phones,
I-Pods, electronic games and all other personal electronics
are not permitted in C.C.D.
classes. These items must be powered off
during class.
If it is necessary to cancel C.C.D. classes,
cancellation notices will be posted on:
● The parish website home page.
● KDKA, WTAE, and WPXI
(including their websites, if available).
○ Decisions
regarding cancellation are not finalized until 1:00 p.m.
Please do not
call the office before 1:00 p.m. Parental judgment
concerning
road conditions in your neighborhood should be a deciding
factor in all
cases.
