Music Ministries

Those who would like to participate in any aspect of the Music Ministry should contact Jim Skalos, Director of Music Ministries at 412-486-6001 or email the Parish Office to express your interest.  We would love to have you a part of this wonderful ministry!

Adult Choir
The Adult Choir sings every Sunday at either the 9:15 a.m. or 11:00 a.m. mass.  They also sing for special Holy Days and other special occasions throughout the year.  The choir sings music from various styles and composers of the church.  Rehearsals are on Thursday evenings from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Cantors
The Cantors of the parish lead the assembly in song at all liturgies where music is part of the celebration.  A Cantor must have a pleasant singing voice as well as a strong stage presence while leading the assembly.

Contemporary Choir
The Contemporary Choir sings at the 6:00 p.m. Sunday Masses through out the year.   The Contemporary Choir is comprised of both instrumentalists and singers who enjoy music of contemporary composers.  The Contemporary Choir rehearses on Sunday afternoons from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the Church.

Handbell Choir
The Handbell Choir rings at various liturgies several times a month, for special Holy Days and for other special occasions throughout the church year.  The Handbell Choir is made up of 11 ringers and we use the Mallmark Handbells, which were donated by a wonderful parishioner.  The Handbell Choir rehearses on Monday evenings from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Instrumentalists
If you are unable to make a weekly commitment to one of our choirs, but you are proficient at your instrument and would like to play occasionally at Sunday liturgies, contact Jim Skalos.
