Instructional Ministries
We have a commitment to share our faith and instruct our children and
adults in the teachings of the Catholic Church. The parish offers programs
for all ages under the directions of the Director of Education, with each
component having a leader.
- Adult Spiritual Formation
St. Catherine's provides many opportunities for spiritual and personal
growth for all persons beyond high-school age. Updating on the Sacraments,
the Liturgy, church history, morality and scripture is provided. These
sessions are scheduled at various times during the day and evening. Watch
for special mailings and consult the bulletin for details on upcoming
programs; retreats and evenings of reflection are also provided.
- Catechists
Religious Education of the Parish depends on catechists (teachers) who
volunteer their time to impart knowledge and share faith with the children
and youth, K-12, attending religious education classes. Catechists are
offered teaching, spiritual enrichment, and knowledge enhancement opportunities
at St. Catherine's and through Diocesan programs.

- Children's Liturgy of the Word
The Mass is the center of Catholic life, and this ministry provides an
opportunity that is sensitive and geared to enable children to participate
in the worship experience. The children are led from the adult liturgy
to the Children's Chapel where the Word of God is revealed to them. Adult volunteers
are needed for this important ministry.

- Christian Initiation of Children
The Rite of Christian Initiation for Children, R.C.I.C., is comparable
to the R.C.I.A. except that it is for children who wish to join the Catholic
Church. Instruction is directed to their level of understanding.

- Classroom Assistants
In addition to catechists (teachers), each religious education class needs
classroom assistants to aid and assist the children with their spiritual
formation.

through instruction, discussion, sharing, and spiritual encouragement.

- Pre-Baptism Parent Program
This program is held monthly for expectant parents and godparents
desiring to have a child baptized. It provides an opportunity for the
parents and godparents to reflect on the meaning and responsibility of
Baptism.

- Preschool
St. Catherine's Preschool is designed to provide a school readiness program
within a Catholic Christian environment. The program revolves around the
theme that each child is a precious gift from our loving Father. Programs
are offered for 3, 4 and 5 year olds.

- Religious Education
Religious Education helps children acquire and deepen Christian faith
and identity through instruction and formation of conscience. Classes
are offered at various times to meet the needs of our growing Parish.
Children in grades K-8 must register each year.

- RCIA - The Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults
R.C.I.A is a program for those who are not members of the Catholic
Church, including the non-baptized, those who were baptized in another
Christian Church, or adults who were baptized Catholic but who never
received the sacraments of First Eucharist or Confirmation. The
process begins with an inquiry period, followed by religious
instructions needed to understand the teaching and tradition of the
Church. Full initiation into the Catholic Church is celebrated at the
Easter Vigil.

and provides opportunities for prayer, scripture study, crafts, music,
