Does the online form require that I pay online?
No, at this time we do not take payments online. You will pay for your certificates when you pick them up.
You may pay with cash or check made payable to St. Catherine of Sweden.
Do certificates expire?
Our gift certificates have no expiration date however some vendors charge a
monthly fee ($2-$3) if the card is not used after a year or two. These
details are plainly spelled out on the back of the card. If this is
cause for concern, please check out the individual card's restrictions when
you pick-up your order.
What is building fund credit?
This is an opportunity to apply a portion (3%) of the proceeds to the
building fund. The building fund is our debt incurred for the new
church and parish center. If you made a pledge to the building fund,
you may use this as an additional means to pay down your pledge. If
you did not make a pledge, you can still help us by purchasing the
certificates and applying the credit to pay our debt.
Who participates in our certificate program?
Our education programs are eligible for tuition reduction through the certificate program
(specifically our preschool and religious education). Our parishioners who wish to participate
can help us pay down the debt quicker.
How does this certificate program help our parish?
If each family spends an average of $100 a week at the grocery store, they can contribute
more than $150 a year to the program without spending any more money than they usually do
at the grocery store. See the examples below:
| 1842 | + families registered at St. Catherine of Sweden | |
| X | 100 | average grocery bill each week |
| $184,200 | possible certificates sold | |
| X | 52 | weeks a year |
| $9,578,400 | X 3% (proceeds to building fund) = $287,352 |
| 553 | (1/3 of families participate in their church) | |
| X | 100 | average grocery bill each week |
| $55,300 | each week | |
| X | 52 | weeks a year |
| $2,875,600 | X 3% (proceeds to building fund) = $86,268 (You've not | |
| spent any additional monies and yet we could be paying down our debt.) | ||
| 553 | (1/3 of families participate in their church) | |
| X | 100 | possible weekly (non-grocery) budget for a family |
| $55,300 | each week | |
| X | 52 | weeks a year |
| $2,875,600 | X 3% = $86,268 plus grocery % of $86,268 = $172,536 |
